Today we celebrate the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. Originally born on January 15, 1929, we acknowledge his work in the civil rights movement, as well as his work for the overall rights of all humans. His infamous “I Have a Dream” speech can still bring people to tears. One of my favorite quotes of his says, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” I wonder what amazing things he would have accomplished had he lived. Instead, he has left us to continue his work by spreading light and love. How will you spread light and love in 2010?
