The Myers Briggs Type Indicator Test or MBTI is a thorough analysis of your individual motivation and personality. It summarizes what motivates you, how you operate, where you draw your energy from, and how you make decisions. Each letter in the four letter acronym stands for an aspect of what makes you tick. I took the test and was amazed at how descriptive and accurate it was. A few large companies believe the test is factual enough to give to employees to assist in team development. Some of those companies are American Express, Starbucks, Procter & Gamble, and Microsoft. (Source.)
It has been thought that ENTJ’s make the best executives and CEO’s because they are outgoing and natural-born leaders. Recently, attention has been given to introverts. Forbes.com and popular career blog Penelope Trunk: Brazen Careerist have posted articles examining introverts because they make up 57% of the population. Maybe not initially outgoing, introverts tend to think then speak, be excellent listeners, and are often good writers. All of these things are qualifications to be an excellent leader.
No matter if you are introverted or extroverted, the more you know about yourself the better! I found a free shortened version of the MBTI test here. Take it! Then come back and tell me about the results and if you agree or disagree. I’d love to hear from you.
